Witch Hunt is Shirley Damsgaard’s fourth novel in the paranormal Ophelia and Abby Mystery series.
Ophelia is a small-town librarian who is just beginning to accept the fact that she is a psychic witch. Her grandmother, Abby, is a witch and is helping Ophelia learn the ‘trade.’ Her teenage foster daughter, Tink, is a medium and contributes to the task of solving the crimes Ophelia is involved in.
Ophelia’s friend Darci’s cousin, Becca, is accused of murdering a member of a motorcycle gang. It’s going to be tough to prove her innocent since Becca was in bed with the victim, holding the knife, when the body was discovered. But Ophelia is determined to solve the crime and bring the real killer to justice. To do so, she must use her psychic ability to get to the bottom of things. It doesn’t help that her private life needs attending to, and then there are the regular cast of bad cops, mad, bad bikers and a ghost or two thrown in for good measure.
If you enjoy cozy mysteries, you’ll enjoy Witch Hunt. It’s a fun, fast-paced book with an interesting plot. It’s the perfect summer beach read or perhaps winter read while sitting quietly in front of a roaring fire.
Armchair Interviews says: Check out the first three Ophelia and Abby mysteries also.
