Winter Trees takes the reader on a charming trek through a snow-covered forest. Your escort is a young boy and his dog, who romp through the snow while introducing you to different trees. The tale takes you through the forest, introducing you to nature. With short descriptions of the leaves, bark, and buds, the reader learns how to identify different trees in the winter.

The illustrations are gorgeous. They are, in my opinion, the highlight of the book. They are brightly colored and simple in a way that makes their beauty stand out. You can almost hear the crackle of the snow and feel the crisp winter air.

Younger readers will need some assistance getting through some of the larger words. Full tree names can be a bit of a challenge to sound out. Such a challenge is a perfect opportunity to get some quality reading together time in. Both kids and adults alike will learn something from reading Winter Trees.

Armchair Interviews says: Beautiful and educational, Winter Trees is a book that will charm readers across the ages.
