One of the hats I wear is helping authors, especially non-fiction genres, develop a book that will sell, and one that also helps grow their business.

So…when this book arrived it was great to see everything I tell my clients in an easy-to-use presentation.

Author Lynne Klippel is a publisher, book shepherd and author with five books. She is also a writing teacher, especially for business owners who want to leverage their existing intellectual property (what they know that you’d pay for) into a book.

Most wannabe authors have barriers to getting started: time, confidence, focus, but Klippel asks us: What’s stopping you from writing your book?

Divided into these sections, you will find answers to (unspoken) issues:

1) Why write a book in the first place? (If you are a speaker, why not? If you are a business person and it promotes your business, why not?)

2) What are Strategy Barriers? You know them all too well: can’t write good enough, it will take too long and cost too much, it has to be perfect, too many books ready on the topic. And the big one is all the negative self-talk.

3) Why are my belief barriers? Beliefs are those subtle (sometimes subversive) ideas that are deep within our head–and are negative–controlled by lack and fear. Here is where you shift your thinking.

If you have wanted to write a book about your business, life experience, passion or anything but a fiction book (romance, mystery, etc.), this book will give you that I CAN DO IT! push many authors need.

If you have wanted to write a book because you are a speaker and can sell it “back of the room,” or if you want to have a book to help you become a speaker, read her book.

Armchair Interviews agrees: This is a perfect quick-but-thoughtful read for anyone who wants to write a non-fiction book.
