In a society where dating for something-to-do-on-Friday-nights is the norm, authors Eric and Leslie Ludy introduces the idea of waiting for God to bring about romance in your life. Today young adults and teens alike are so desperate for acceptance and love that they often jump into relationships that will detract from the relationship that will eventually follow with their spouse.

The authors introduces the unique idea of first establishing your identity and confidence as a single person, and then allowing God to lead you to the person who will ultimate be “the one.” After all, since God is omniscient and knows our futures better than we do, wouldn’t it be better to leave it in his hands?

Written in an easy-to-understand manner, the authors have expanded this book (originally published in 2003) with additional information. Touching on their own personal lives and the relationships they have gone through, the Ludys do a wonderful job of portraying the wholeness and peace that you would feel if the mission of finding the right person is guided by God.

I especially enjoyed the fact that both the feminine and masculine views were projected in the book in a very vivid manner since they alternated writing the different chapters. This ensured that the book was not one-sided, making it equally interesting to both genders. Furthermore, I found it enlightening to read about the viewpoints and thoughts of the opposite gender because in reality men are from Mars and women are from Venus!

This is an excellent book that provokes deep thinking with regards to purity, God-led relationships and making the right decisions regarding the relationship with God as well as others.
