Bobbie Faye has graduated from a run-down trailer (it drowned) to a new home with her hunky FBI agent fiancé, Trevor Cormier. They’re just getting settled into living together when Trevor is given a new assignment. It’s only for three days, but there are some very bad guys with itchy trigger fingers looking to settle an old score with Bobbie Faye, so Trevor isn’t going to leave her without protection.

Trevor’s idea of keeping Bobbie Faye safe is to call on (without her knowledge) an old friend of his, Berneke Rilestone (Riles) to babysit. To say that mixing Bobbie Faye with the likes of Riles would be like a good day gone really badly would be an understatement. But since it’s only three days, Bobbie Faye decided to cooperate, sort of. But when three days stretches into a week without hearing from Trevor, and Bobbie Fay’s runs out of colors to paint and repaint the house, and shooting Riles is looking better all the time, she decides to take matter into her own hands. Now that can only be the prelude to disaster.

Bobbie Faye enlists her former boyfriend and a local detective, Cam and Riles to help her track Trevor. The rest is glorious history complete with Bobbie Faye sinking a boat. A BIG boat!

Toni McGee Causey is the funniest writer I have ever read. Her prose is crisp and takes twists, turns and deep dips that make the roller coaster ride one you don’t want to end. Her characters are quirky and sometimes over the top, but that makes reading her novels all the better. She reminds me of Janet Evanovich but is funnier.

Armchair Interviews says: All three Bobbie Faye books are must reads.
