In this Christian mystery, Priscilla Perle is not your ordinary private investigator. By completing a correspondence course in four payments of $75 each, she earns her license to practice. As she perseveres at this for two years, she lands the biggest job of her career. Her husband Terry thinks that when he comes home from work, he will have to console Priscilla for not getting the job from Justin Lindler, the patriarch of the most prominent family in town. Little does he know that Justin takes a shine to Priscilla and with his faith in God, he believes she can solve the murders of the family that has affected them for years.

Officer Jacobs, who works for the police force, is reluctant to share any information with Priscilla. Priscilla acknowledges this reluctance, but vows to share with him any information she discovers. As she begins to interview the family members, she takes on the huge task of finding who killed Justin’s great grandson Ricky—and hopes to solve the mystery of the previous death of Susan, Justin’s great granddaughter. The only witness to the crime is Jody who happened to be there when the murder happened. Although this 10-year-old boy who afflicted with cerebral palsy is no help to Office Jacobs, Priscilla vows to find a link to communicate with Jody.

Mrs. Pickrell’s style of writing has the reader anxiously waiting to see what happens next in the flip of a page. Her character Priscilla regularly dons the armor of God and sets forth in her faith to solve these murders.

Armchair Interviews says: Priscilla is a modern Christian Miss Marple.
