"The Tunnels," as they are called, is a tunnel system underneath the college Special Agent Kelly Jones calls her alma mater. The FBI investigation involves two murders of two very prominent daughters. One is the daughter of Greek shipping magnate and the other a Chinese U.N. diplomat.
As the investigation progresses with the help of Agent Roger Morrow and ex-FBI Agent Jack Riley, they learn the murders are part of a pagan ritual. Ex-FBI Agent Jack Riley and Special Agent Kelly Jones do not hit it off right away. As Kelly wants to follow FBI protocol and Jack bucks at the system, both must come to terms with each other. As the ritual accelerates and more girls are murdered, all three investigators must come together and discover what the ritual means and how to catch the person doing it.
Deep inside dark tunnels that are painted with pagan symbols left at the murder scenes, the killings become more sadistic than the one before.
Michelle Gagnon's first book is a page-turner and has more twists and turns than the tunnels do. She puts you right there in the dark of the tunnel and paints a very vivid picture of what is going on.
Armchair Interviews says: Agent Kelly Jones is a character that has the potential of becoming a series.
