Sequel to Sorcery and Cecelia and The Enchanted Chocolate Pot, The Grand Tour follows heroines Cecelia and Kate as they set out with their new husbands in a honeymoon tour across Europe. But what begins as a vacation turns into a deadly chase across the continent when the group unwittingly becomes involved in a secret plot to take over Europe!
Straightforward and uncomplicated, The Grand Tour can be enjoyed by any reader, regardless whether they are familiar with the first two books in Wrede and Stevermer's fantasy series.
It starts out somewhat slow, but picks up the pace before long. The plot unravels a bit like a detective novel. The characters have to follow up clues and use their heads to figure out what move to make next in their search for answers to the many mysteries that pop up during their journey. The ending is satisfying, and all the complex threads of the plot are cleared up.
Armchair Interviews says: The Grand Tour promises a light and entertaining read. Fans of the previous books won't want to miss it, and readers new to the series may pick it up without worrying about feeling they are missing something. An all-around winner.
