Subtitled: How Santa Almost Forgot Christmas

Santa slips on the floor and falls because of one little boy's messiness. Santa gets a bump on his head (his noggin).

This noggin bump causes him to forget what is job is--and others try to help him remember with various clues. Santa guesses wrong every time.

Told in rhyme, each page of the story has wonderful photos of Santa (the author IS Santa here) as he acts out what he thinks IS his job--based on those clues. What is Santa's job? Here it is to make us laugh as he goes through the different clues.

This is a different kind of Christmas story, and both the kids and adult readers will enjoy its uniqueness. Photography is by Don Ruth and illustrations by Mark Bush.

Author Schatze is considered an authority on the poem, "Twas the Night Before Christmas." His first book, The Bird in Santa's Beard (see our review) explains why children see so many different Santas at Christmas.
