The Serpent’s Daughter is part of the Jade Del Cameron Mystery series by Suzanne Arruda. Each book in the series is a stand alone. Arruda is a zookeeper turned science teacher and freelance writer.

It’s 1920 and photojournalist Jade del Cameron reluctantly agrees to meeting her mother, Inez, in Tangier, Morocco for a holiday. It’s really not a holiday for Jade as the relationship between her and her mother is a bit bumpy as Inez does not approve of Jade’s lifestyle. But Jade loves travel and exploring new places and considers the trip an adventure. It’s better than meeting her mother on Inez’s turf.

While in Tangier, Inez is kidnapped. The women may be at odds with each other much of the time, but Jade does love her mother. Her search for Inez takes Jade to dangerous places where her life is in danger–and eluding drug smugglers, slave traders is of great importance.

The Serpent’s Daughter is another of Suzanne Arruda’s fast-paced, action thriller that grabs the reader from the first page and leaves them breathless at the end. If you enjoy historical fiction, then you’re in for a thrill. The characters are delicious, the plot is multi-layered and the climax is stunning.

Armchair Interviews says: A must read.
