In the Middle East, the Holy Land is plundered for an unknown treasure. Leaving 13 Israeli policemen and soldiers dead, a powder keg has been lit that may very well change the world as we know it. Everyone has to work together to figure out this puzzle and try to restore order. How were they able to pull off the heist and who is the inside man?
While in the Middle East, everyone is scrambling to figure out what was stolen and why, in Italy an ancient artifact is being scrutinized. At the Vatican, an
anthropologist and a DNA expert have been summoned for a special job. After signing several secrecy documents, they find that they are to figure out the origins of a skeleton. During the course of their investigation, questions start popping up that they just can’t answer. Who’s skeleton is this and what does it mean?
When I first started reading this book, I had a really hard time getting into it. I kept putting it down and not wanting to pick it back up. Once I got nearly halfway through, it was all worth it! The first half is mostly history and fact, but it’s absolutely necessary for understanding the story. I found myself completely immersed in this story and couldn’t stop reading! It was well worth the wait for the action to begin.
Not only did I learn a lot, but this book left me thinking for days about my own life and beliefs. This book made a huge impact on me that I can’t seem to get out of my mind. The sheer amount of research that had to be done for this book absolutely boggles me. Author Byrnes has to have been working on this book for most of his life in order to achieve this level of literature.
This book has everything: romance, mystery, murder, politics, theology and history. No matter what your beliefs, this is a book that any true reader will enjoy.
