The covers of The Never Say Diet Personal Fitness Trainer promises sixteen weeks to achieve your goal of a healthy lifestyle, and more. What is missing is the part which informs the reader that this book is pretty much useless as a “personal fitness trainer,” unless you already own and have read the Never Say Diet book.
The problem I found was the program and exercise plans are based on information only revealed in the first book, which the reader is encouraged to keep close at hand for further explanation. That reduces the Never Say Diet Personal Fitness Trainer to a companion journal. It’s not that I have anything against exercise journals; I just expected the cover to be forthright and tell the reader they’ll need the other book to use this one.
Since I did not read the first book, I found reading the Never Say Diet Personal Fitness Trainer discouraging. There was no way to do the specified exercises, because the instructions were not included, and the advice on succeeding boiled down to journaling everything you eat, every time you exercise, weigh once a week, and get use to eating unimaginative foods and working hard forever. Frankly, I expected more.
Even though the Scriptures and the quote for the week at the beginning of each chapter were encouraging, the rest of the book failed miserably on its promises. Therefore, unless you already own, or plan to buy the Never Say Diet book, I would not recommend The Never Say Diet Personal Fitness Trainer.
Armchair Interviews agrees: These are companion books, and do not stand alone.
