I was at ICRS (International Christian Retail Show) in Orlando recently and found myself in sensory overload. I couldn’t believe all of the films, CDs, books and gift items. There was too much to look at! But one of the most valuable of all the items I happened to find was The Kid’s Bible: New Testament on CD!

The Kid’s Bible is the Contemporary English Version and can be listened to by children from age 3 to 12, according to the publisher, but I think age 6-adult is more accurate. The Bible is narrated by a woman, but the portions where Jesus speaks is done by a man. They both read well and are easy on the ears and the voice inflection makes listeners eager for what comes next.

I love that it opens with the song “The B I B L E” and throughout the 15 discs there are another 99 songs that kids know and love.

And the packaging! It’s a compact red disk holder that opens from each end. It’s easily carried by the children and the discs are easy to access. The CDs themselves are different colors and frankly, everything about the packaging screams, play me, play me!

I listened to portions of the Bible as did my daughter and several grandchildren. I could go into detail about what they said, but it all boiled down to this is it! This is a great way to learn about God’s word. My 6-year-old granddaughter could listen to one CD at a time without becoming bored. She loved the songs and felt important when carrying her Bible case (as she calls it).

The Kid’s Bible is a must have. Great for the family and wonderful to give as a gift. Check out the website we’ve listed so you can learn where to purchase it (the cost is reasonable). And hey, you can play it over and over and share. How good is that?

Armchair Interviews says: Great for the family and a great gift to give.
