Tall, Dark and Dead is the latest entry into the world of paranormal romance. The newest, talented voice is that of Tate Hallaway in her author debut. Her concise writing style, vivid descriptions and innovative plot all blend together to provide the reader with a great new look into the love life of witches, vampires and the undead.

After the death of her entire coven at the hands of Vatican Witch hunters, Garnet moves to the town of Madison to hide from the vicious killers. Disguised as a new-age Goth girl, she hopes to return to a life of safety and security. That is until Sebastian strolls into her store looking for mandrake. A quick once over confirms her suspicions. The well-built, sexy looking man in denim, leather and dark ponytail is not exuding any type of an aura--which can only mean he is not alive.

As Garnet recovers from the loss of her friends and the end of her turbulent relationship with the vampire Parrish, she is not sure she is prepared to take up with another member of the undead. Without much coercing, Sebastian easily convinces her she ready for anything he has to offer. But when Sebastian turns out to come with a resident vengeful ghost, a half-living vampire son and cars full of Vatican hunters, she is not sure she made the right decision.

Tall, Dark and Dead is hopefully the beginning of more than one book that will include the delightful characters of Garnet, Sebastian and Parrish. The plot includes all the elements that keep the reader unable to put the book down until the last page. It is a one-sitting read since it keeps the reader glued to the story. From romance to blood shed (again in romance but also in hatred) this story has all the bases covered.

Armchair Interviews says: Many details are left unclear at the end, which leads us to assume we will be able to follow the characters through more adventures in the future.
