Eric Emerson is a decorated Army Ranger who believes in justice for the guilty. Yet when the courts release a felon he helped apprehend, his Army duties take him away from his home, so he isn’t there to defend his wife, Karen, when the gang comes for her and kills her.
Returning, Eric takes justice into his own hands and destroys the criminals. And it isn’t the first time….
Yet this same sense of honor and duty will lead him to a crucial decision when he and his Army partner Samantha unearth a far more deadly plot against humanity than the faulty missile system they are investigating.
Will Eric use his new knowledge and his skills to allow the destruction of innocent lives? That’s the dilemma this book places him in, and frankly, I think he makes that decision without any hesitation at all. Only in the last few pages do the results of his earlier actions come home to haunt him. And yet, he cannot be other than who he is—but it doesn’t change his course. He must now accept that he is not the protector of the human flock but one of the wolves which prey on it.
This is a tight action novel with a taut moral dilemma at its core. Will you agree with Eric’s final decision, or believe he has done the ultimate harm? It is up to you to decide.
This is a 4-star read but deserving only a 3-star because of excessive errors. This is another example of a very good story well told, but the presentation negatively affects the overall impact.
Armchair Interviews says: The lack of an editor/proofreader is obviouis as this book is filled with typos.
