Debbie Macomber combines knitting, the cozy setting of Blossom Street, the friendship of women, and everyday problems–and she “knits” (pardon the pun) all of these into a novel that will bring you satisfaction.
Lydia Goetz is the owner of A Good Yarn which is located on Seattle, Washington’s Blossom Street. (Blossom street is like visiting a small town city of yesteryear where the residents live their lives with the input and help of others.)
Lydia has an idea to offer a Knit to Quit Class for people who want to quit something and start fresh. She has her own reasons for starting the class. She and her husband, Brad have become foster parents to a difficult child. It’s wrecking havoc with her life and that of her husband and stepson.
Phoebe Rylander struggles with a badly ended engagement to a man with an addiction she is unable to live with, and one that proves he will never be faithful. But Phoebe cares for him and is under pressure from his family and her own to give it one more chance. She’s registered for Knit to Quit to keep her sanity and to give her the strength she doesn’t possess.
Alix Turner and her husband would love to have a baby but she has an addiction to cigarettes. If she’s going to provide her child a healthy life, she must quit. So for her, Knit to Quit is the quest for a family.
Bryan Hutchinson is stressed out. He runs a business (chocolate is at the heart of the problem) and is being sued by an unscrupulous attorney. He becomes a part of Knit to Quit in order to relax.
Anne Marie Roche recently adopted an older child (girl) and life is going great. But when a mysterious man arrives at her business, it changes her life and the life of her daughter.
Debbie Macomber shows us that when life becomes difficult, friends are just the help that is needed.
Armchair Interviews says: Debbie Macomber gives her fans another winner.
