There are times when we all have trouble falling asleep. And Snowbaby is no different.
On a cozy winter night he just couldn't get to sleep. Snowpapa suggested that he try to count snowflakes, and Snowmama put more snow on his bed because he was too hot. He still couldn't sleep so Snowpapa sang wonderful songs and gave Snowbaby his earmuffs, and Snowmama poured him a cold glass of water. That didn't work either because Snowbaby was lonely.
So Snowpapa and Snowmama packed some soft snow, snipped buttons from Snowpapa's vest and ribbon from Snowmama's skirt and made a really special surprise. Snowbaby was so happy that it wasn't too long before sleep arrived.
This delightful bedtime story will be requested many times by children who need reassurance that all is well in their nighttime world. And Jim Ishikawa's illustrations are fun, delicate and capture the story in delightful pictures.
Armchair Interviews says: Snowbaby Could Not Sleep is a grand choice for those little ones who have a difficult time going to sleep.
