Perhaps you are among the myriad of people who determined that this would be the year to lose “x” number of pounds. Maybe you’ve bought a new book or joined a gym in the pursuit of the body beautiful. Richard Warburg and Tessa Lorant believe they have the answer for you. You don’t need expensive gym memberships or the blind dedication called for by popular diets. No, in fact…you need to just snack more.

In their book, Snack Yourself Slim, these authors capitalize upon a known fact: the body craves satiety through smaller, more frequent meals. Their plan is dubbed the EATALL WAY since you eat something every hour that you are awake. Such an approach is more of a lifestyle than a diet.

Here is the plan in a nutshell: every hour that you are awake you eat approximately 100 calories of any food. If you arise at 7AM and are awake until 10PM for those 15 hours you would consume about 1500 calories. Such a plan is destined for success since the body’s caloric needs is readily demonstrated through science. Daily caloric need is based upon gender, height, weight, and exertion level.

For instance, a six-foot, 40-year-old man, weighing approximately 200 pounds with a moderate physical activity level (five exercise sessions a week), would need about 2800 calories a day to maintain his current weight. Since 3500 calories equals one pound of fat, reducing daily intake to a mere 2000 calories would equate to nearly a pound of fat being reduced every four days.

In Snack Yourself Slim, you would be encouraged to eliminate another 500 calories from that amount for even quicker weight loss.

If you are trying to lose weight, you would certainly succeed with this plan. The only drawback, however, is that you have to give up eating three meals a day. For most occupations and lifestyles, this seems extraordinarily unreasonable.
