Princess Emily has lived in Castle Clarion all of her life but has never before noticed a small door in a much-traveled hallway. When she meets a talking mouse, she learns that Castle Clarion holds many secrets. And one of those secrets is revealing itself that very day.
The castle is to undergo renovations and Princess Emily discovers that if the plans go ahead, the mice and their home will disappear. The amulet that guarded the secret home is gone. Will it be found? Will the mice be saved?
It’s only after Princess Emily spends a day learning about Merlin and his magic, and also spending time with her new friends, is she able to solve the mystery of the amulet.
Princess Emily and the Secret Library is a fun fantasy/mystery for young children. The length of the narrative means it will not hold a very small child’s attention, but older kids will enjoy. The illustrations are whimsical, colorful and add to the story.
Armchair Interviews says: A fun book for children around 4-6. This book is the first in a Princess Emily series.
