In the small town of Lawrenceton, Georgia, being inducted into the Uppity Women’s Book Club means you are someone of importance. It’s an honor to be asked to join, and now it was Poppy Queensland turn. Poppy is smart and savvy and is a doting mother to Chase, all qualities of an uppity woman.

But in this exclusive club someone must die in order for someone else to join, which proves to be more than ironic in Poppy Queensland’s case.

When Poppy fails to show up at her own induction, her step sister-in-law Aurora “Roe” Teagarden, storms over to her house intending to give her a piece of her mind! Tragically Roe discovers Poppy’s body lying between the patio doors. There are multiple suspects, including her missing husband and a string of scorned lovers on both sides of the marriage. Roe is left to untangle the web of lies, deceit, and scandals Poppy left behind.

The questions are many and greater complications arise with the arrival of Roe’s long-estranged teenage brother. With just about everyone in town on the list of possible suspects, Roe must separate fact from fiction and must work quickly since there is a killer on the loose.

Poppy Done to Death is a delightful cozy with fascinating characters, tangled love affairs, and plot changes that keep the readers hooked. Charlaine Harris has outdone herself with the lovable Roe Teagarden and leaves us wanting more…. Bravo!

Armchair Interviews says: A book to delight the reader.
