Subtitled: Online Book Marketing for Authors
The number of books published each year is staggering. Steve Weber, author of Plug Your Book! Online Book Marketing for Authors, offers 200,000 as a nice round number. Then there are the hundreds of thousands of 'older' books that are on the market.
The Big Question: How does an author reach book buyers with their book?
Weber's book offers new, emerging and popular authors an inside look at successful marketing possibilities of their title via the Internet. He discusses the various Amazon programs at length, includes information on building an author Web site, presenting yourself to the MySpace world, blogging and blog tours for authors, and social networking (which was new to me) as well as 'tons' of other ways to promote and sell your book.
The tips and techniques may not be new for some, but I suspect everyone will find something new to help them promote their title. The tactics may take time to learn and perfect, but the financial investment is either nothing or entails a small monetary expenditure. Generally speaking Weber's ideas should well serve both the fiction and non-fiction author.
While it might appear that Weber's book is an Amazon advertisement, it really isn't. It's just that Amazon is the 'player' in the world of book marketing and thus it makes sense to utilize what they offer.
Armchair Interviews says: If you want to make sales and have the world take notice of your book, you might do well to read Weber's, book. It's not a guarantee, but it can't hurt.
