What would happen if you were to cause a commotion in the zoo? Well, if you frighten a bear...Look out! You might just find yourself in a cage with a bunch of angry people.
With building text and intensifying action Never, EVER Shout in a Zoo charges to a fantastical ending. And yet, it lacked that special something that makes a picture book a great out loud read.
There were rhyming lines that didn't seem quite random, but weren't read-aloud friendly, either. The building text was fun, but then wouldn't carry over into the cadence on the next page.
It is important to note the illustrations are delightful and probably make the book. Kids love to page through it and holler, "UH-OH!"
Armchair Interviews says: Kids will enjoy the book, but it won't be at the top of mom's list.
