Dog lovers unite! Humans, stand guard.

If Genevieve, a very sassy, sarcastic and rude Papillion has her way, all our human frailties will be front and center. A Papillion is a cute little dog with big ears that look sort of like a butterfly, (Papillion is French for butterfly.)

The person who Genevieve owns, Dennis Fried, has a darn good deal.

He can spout off about all kinds of things--and safely do it all in the dog's name and voice. Gee, wish I would have thought of that instead of always biting my tongue instead of saying something about stupid people doing stupid things.

This second Genevieve book starts with the premise: Why ever human needs to read this book. Some of the chapters include: Manners, Restaurants, Entertainment, Supermarkets, Marriage, Exercise--each told from the four-legged perspective.

If a human said (okay, a human says it since dogs don't actually talk) these things, they would be sued, or at least challenged by their families, friends and neighbors.

My favorite part was "Ask Genevieve," since I am an advice column junkie. I love reading those columns about stupid people and revel in the fact that I don't recognize myself in any of them.

This section is Genevieve's monthly web column with questions from dogs with problems (or as they say, issues). Wait, my own cunning bichon frise wants to read that section....

Armchair Interviews says: It's a hoot if you are a dog lover. I wonder if my dog would let me be "more direct" in his name?

From our armchair to yours...
