Ellie is like most moms out there. She spends all day dealing with the kids, cleaning up the house and holding things together. The biggest difference is that Ellie has a knack for finding dead bodies.
Shortly after she and her husband move to Georgia, she decides to take an evening walk to calm down after a hectic day. Walking past an old cemetery, she comes across a human skull. Looking a little closer she sees that part of the cemetery has eroded, but the plot she’s looking at holds another human skull! After calling the police she finds out about a girl named Jodi who has been missing for ten months. Ellie finds herself being pulled into the search for Jodi, but when someone starts tormenting her, she realizes that she must find what happened to the missing girl before someone else ends up dead.
Again I was surprised by a new author! Though I figured out the mystery near the end, nearly the entire book kept me guessing. The characters are fun and likeable. Sara has a talent for storytelling that keeps you from putting the book down. I made the mistake of attempting to read one chapter before going to sleep and ended up staying up all night to finish it. I’m expecting great things from this author in the future.
Sara Rosett writes a series of Mom Zone mysteries. This is the fourth in the series starring Ellie Avery. I wasn’t really sure what to expect when I picked up this book, having read none of the previous books. This is one of those great series books where each book stands alone, or you can read them in order. I fully plan to get the rest in the series because I want to know what else Ellie has been up to!
Armchair Interviews says: A good start to a series.
