Imagine having a book that tells parents exactly what their children should know at each grade level. Imagine that children would want to read it, too. That's what you get with Let's Get Ready for Kindergarten!

In a kid-friendly format with engaging illustrations, Let's Get Ready for Kindergarten! has dry-erase pages where children can practice again and again the skills they are learning. Children can practice their alphabet, numbers, rhyming, time, calendar, seasons and much more.

And now for the personal experience. I have two children who will be entering kindergarten in the fall so I approached this book with more than a little trepidation. What do my children know? Have I failed them? Was keeping them out of preschool a bad idea? As we sat down to "play" with our new school book, my children jumped right in, practicing the skills and now want to do the book again and again.

Although the title indicates "this is what you need to know," the literature that came with the book gives the feeling that they are the skills to master in the kindergarten year. As my children know about 50 percent of the information contained in the pages, that is a distinct difference. However, it is a good learning tool for all parents of the five-year-old crowd
