Kate Campbell is an innocent living in a dangerous time. Callum MacGregor the dangerous lord whose very name means death. Drawn together by history and attraction, their lives will never be the same. Kate has grown up both fearing and hating the Macgregors for the crimes they have committed against her family, after all The Devil, as he is called, killed her father. As she learns more about her family’s interactions with the MacGregor family, the more she learns about herself. Can she betray her family or her heart?
This is a great novel and an interesting story for anyone who has ever dreamed about living in simpler times. Picturing the highlands and the people that lived there is a lot easier with someone like Paula Quinn directing your vision. The characters are well designed–and you can feel for them and the impossible position that they are thrust into. I really liked how the novel shows the characters interacting with more then just each other and how she shows others reactions just based on the names.
Paula is a powerful writer who has also written Lord of Seduction –another novel that immerses you in history and life. I believe Paula has a great gift and look forward to reading more from this great author.
