If the Shoe Fits is a charming story of one little girl who is terrified to dance in front of an audience. Cassie is a great dancer but doesn’t realize it and she just can’t muster the ability to conquer the fear. She tries faking being sick, suddenly doesn’t fit in to her shoes, and disappears moments before the performance starts all in attempts to avoid the dreaded audience.

Her loving and supportive mother helps her by seeing through all of her ruses. She makes sure her daughter gets up, has the shoes she needs, and knows her family loves and supports her. Once she’s at the performance though, Cassie is on her own and she must muster the strength to get out there and dance. Through the help of an unexpected friend, can she conquer her fear and give the best performance of her life?

Every child has fears or hesitations and every parent struggles with how to help their children work through them. If the Shoe Fits is a wonderful story with an excellent lesson that will help both parents and children. The book is broken down into easy read chapters with large font.

It’s a great story for mid-level readers to read by themselves or to cuddle up on the couch and read together.

Armchair Interviews says: This is a problem every child has to conquer.
