Hooray for Me! was first published in 1969. In 2007, Tricycle Press introduces the new paperback edition to another generation of children. Author Remy Charlip is an artist, dancer, theater director and choreographer. Lilian Moore authored many books for children. Vera B. Williams is the author of such Caldecott Honor books as A Chair for My Mother and "More More More," Said the Baby.
Hooray For Me! is a book for children where they can begin to look at and think about relationships with people and themselves. The Me is them as a son, daughter, mother, sister, friend, etc. It may be confusing for young children at first, but as they read the book and grow a bit older, the concept of Me (relationships) will become clearer.
This book is a good way to share the knowledge of Me and relationships and build a sense of who they are.
Armchair Interviews says: A fun book that will be viewed differently by different age groups.
