It seems that Americans have forgotten our Judea-Christian heritage. It also seems like all we see and hear is violence, violence, violence on our airwaves, in our books, and in our games. How can we, as a country, expect to survive, if we can’t follow the ten simple commandments give to Moses? It’s hard, that’s for sure. Author David Lee Kirkland has given readers a way to walk a little more beside God in his new book, God’s Three Step Plan: Scripture for the Spiritual Journey.

In this small and enlightening work, Kirkland takes a look at the Old Testament’s Micah of Moresheth, especially 6:8. Quoting many religions, religious people, and religious books, the three-step plan is simple and easy to follow. Kirkland proves that it doesn’t matter how or what readers believe, finding a path that works for each individual is not only necessary, but available and easy to find. All the willing person has to do is to want a closer relationship with their Higher Power.

First I read God’s Three Step Plan: Scripture for the Spiritual Journey from cover to cover, looking for the three steps. I thought about Kirkland’s ideas and let them simmer in my mind and heart. Then I went back and read the book, a chapter a day, savoring the Scriptures and quotes. By day four, I realized that this is how the guide should be read: each chapter and verse savored and given room for reflection.

I feel I have come away from God’s Three Step Plan: Scripture for the Spiritual Journey a better Christian, and a better person.

Armchair Interviews says: Excellent book for anyone who wants a better life.
