In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth.
God Makes the World retells the entire story of Creation and Adam and Eve in a simple child’s format. With colorful illustrations, the child can see the blackness of the world before God started creating, then the waters of the ocean and sky.
The book goes into all seven days of creation, but it doesn’t end there. It also includes Eve talking to the serpent and the when sin entered the world, and then Adam and Eve ultimately being kicked out of the beautiful garden.
God Makes the World does end on kind of a sad note, but it is realistic. I read this to my three- and my six-year-olds, and they both enjoyed looking at the pictures and hearing the story. My three-year-old wanted me to read the story over and over.
The story isn’t exactly true to account biblically, with a lot of liberties taken, but it is pretty close, and the story is simple enough for the youngest child to understand. These cute little books would be adorable to find under the Christmas tree, or anytime. Pick up a copy for your favorite preschooler.
