Review by Kathy Perschmann

This is the conclusion in a series (Edge of Danger and Edge of Fear are the other titles) that is the story of the Edge brothers: Gabriel, Caleb and Duncan
Edge of Darkness is the story of Duncan and the ravishing wizard Serena Brightman Campbell. The Edge boys are all cursed wizards with different talents. Duncan's special affinity is for fire. They are all part of the paranormal division of T-FLAC, a counterterrorist organization.

Duncan has been getting subliminal messages to "stop her, help her" from his old friend Professor Henry Morgan, who raised Serena and works with her at her foundation to end world hunger, and who had recently suffered a stroke. Duncan does care about Serena and is trying to resist his attraction to her--for if she is his "lifemate," she will die--that is the family curse. He decides to keep an eye on Serena in her work all over the world, which really makes her mad. She has always loved Duncan, and thought he did not like her.

Duncan, Serena, and Trey Culver, who all went to wizard school together, end up in the running for Head of Council. They will need to undergo four tests; the first one to pass two challenges, wins. Because the tests are dangerous, they may be injured or even die.

In the midst of all this, they are dealing with a terrorist threat to Serena's project to build a thermal blanket to melt permafrost and make it possible for crops to grow in Siberia. Also, the son of Joanna, one of the lead scientists on the project, has been kidnapped.

Wizards, curses, a steamy attraction, brilliant and dedicated scientists, and nasty terrorists create an "edgy" suspenseful love story.

Armchair Interviews says: Well-written mixed-genre book.
