Katie Chandler has traded in her life in weird, fast-paced Manhattan to return to Cobb, Texas, population 2,500. The good thing is that in Cobb, Katie hasn’t experienced any attacks on her life. That’s more than she could say when she lived in New York.
Katie’s gone back to Cobb to work in her family’s feed and seed store. This may not have been what she’d always wanted to do, but it was an act of selfless sacrifice on behalf of the important person she left behind–left behind to work with her sister-in-law, Sherri, a.k.a. The Evil Bitch Queen of the Universe.
Leaving New York behind means leaving evil behind. Or does it? Whoops! Trouble has followed Katie to Cobb, Texas. Now Merlin (her former boss) has assured her that Cobb doesn’t have anything magical going on, but there are some curious happenings.
Cobb is experiencing its own brand of mischief and crime, and the experienced Katie knows when there is unauthorized magic going on. And what’s going on in Cobb is definitely not authorized. What’s a girl to do? Well, if she’s lucky, her special someone just might show up to check things out. And Katie and her friends and family–and well, Texas–is going to show the bad guys just what happens if you mess with Texas.
Shanna Swendson’s Katie Chandler’s novels are a delight. They make me laugh. And I don’t sleep because I can’t stop reading, and I keep seeing her as the newest adventure heroine. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, she just plain puts to shame Buffy, Sabrina and all the rest. Katie Chandler rocks!
You’ll laugh out loud reading Don’t Hex With Texas. And when you’re done, go out and buy the first three Katie Chandler novels. Your blood pressure will drop to normal, and you’ll add years to your life with all that laughing.
