A young girl whose parents were murdered grows up to become a police officer who is determined to rid the world of as many vicious killers as possible. Eventually Emily Stone quits the police department and begins to work on her own with serial killers as a specialty. Emily has an uncanny ability to track the steps of the killers. Emily is most concerned with the abduction of children, has proved successful in tracking abductors, and has even been able to stalk a killer in time to save a child.
When Emily returns home to California from a recent trip, her neighbors tell her that they have gained a new neighbor and not a nice one at that. Donald Everett has been harassing the entire neighborhood since he has moved there. Emily reports his actions to Detective Rick Lopez who is currently working an investigation involving a killer or killers that abducts young women and leaves their bodies in staged positions of horror.
Emily has acted undercover and kept her identity and her actions a secret from everyone but one trusted police officer back in her home state. Now she suddenly finds herself the target of the serial killer acting in the California area.
Will Emily be able to keep her identity a secret and still escape death? You won’t know for sure until you too join the chase in Compulsion.
