Many of us crave simplicity in our daily lives--something that our modern lives don't get enough of. Feinberg suggests that you can simplify your faith, having an organic relationship with God that is stripped of the pollutants and additives.

Feinberg shares a lot of personal stories about growing up half-Jewish, not being considered a real Jew, her falling away from faith, etc., but not very much of the chapters are about God...they are mostly about Feinberg. She does make applications--such as, when she asked her father for twenty dollars, he'd give her forty instead, thus God will over-give to his children.

With such simplistic titles as:

-- Big-hearted
-- Amazingly wise
-- Outrageously generous
-- Abundantly kind

it is obvious what the chapters are about. Questions and discussion guides are included for each chapter, but they are at the end of the book, not conveniently located at the end of the chapter. There is also a resource guide available, so you can do additional reading.

The Organic God is written in a friendly, communicative style of writing which is sure to hold your interest while you learn about Feinberg's growing up years. And she does apply her experiences to what God is like. And if you want to start simple (maybe you haven't had a daily Bible study guide) and want to learn some basic truths about who God is, then you might consider it.

If you are looking for meat in your Bible study, then The Organic Guide is not the book for you. If you are satisfied with a baby's diet of milk for your studies about God, then you might consider it.
