If you are a Michael Connelly fan, loved the Lincoln Lawyer and think you know Harry Bosch inside and out, his new book, Brass Verdict, will provide you everything you have ever wanted in a legal/crime novel.

Mickey Haller is back from his convalescence after a stint in rehab and foregoing his law practice for two years. An old adversary and sometimes colleague, Jerry Vincent, has just been murdered. Haller finds himself as the beneficiary to Vincent’s law practice and the cash client of a lifetime, Hollywood producer Walter Elliott.

As Haller begins to pick up the case load where Vincent left off, his life intersects with the main protagonist from Michael Connelly’s crime novels, Harry Bosch. The relationship starts adversarial, Bosch suspects Haller and Haller does not trust Bosch.

As both men work their cases from their respective sides, they realize that neither will be successful without the other. The climax is unexpected and the secrets revealed never anticipated. This is classic Connelly.

Hachette Audio does another fantastic job of casting with Peter Giles playing all parts. He inflects his voice just enough to give the wide variety of characters their own distinct parts within the story. The end of each CD has a slow build to music that gives the reader a sense of anticipation. It made me start fumbling for the next CD.

Armchair Interviews says: If you love Connelly and have waited patiently for this novel, you will not be disappointed.
