Something needed to be done about Ariana. What that something should be was up for contention by her parents, but an escalating set of circumstances set the course of events that would change Ariana’s life forever.

Being sent from the country village of Chesterton to the bustling city of London, Ariana finds herself quite outside of her norm. It doesn’t take long for her to innocently develop enemies that land her in the middle of a scandal. Most surprising is when that scandal makes an unlikely ally of Mr. Mornay, the one man she has been told time and again to avoid. Will it be possible to hold onto both her ideals and her heart or will she lose both?

I was a little leery when I saw so many references to “Jane Austin” in the descriptions of this book. There is a reason Jane is Jane. But I was pleasantly surprised to discover there was also a reason for the comparison in this Regency Inspirational. A witty, mouthy, forward-thinking heroine and an untouchable hero make up the majority of the story with plenty of strong personalities in the supporting cast. The heroine, indeed, has nonconformist ideals that might just land her in the wrong situation. And over all of this action is an omniscient point of view that is rarely seen in today’s writings.

It took me a bit to get used to the style (I haven’t used my omniscient brain cells while reading for a while), but once Ariana landed in London, I fell in love with her story. It was clean, well-written and captivating.

I look forward to reading more of this author’s “Inspirational Romance for the Jane Austen Soul.”

Armchair Interviews says: A wonderful inspirational romance.
