Tony Blankley, author of American Grit: What it Will Take to Survive and Win in the 21st Century, is a popular conservative syndicated columnist. I first read his work on Town Hall and liked his ability to clearly give a rational argument for his reasoning.
American Grit will bring the far left back into derangement syndrome (and to think they thought that they wouldn’t have to visit that place now that Bush has left office). Blankley’s 188-page book discusses the consequences of blindly following President Obama’s choices for our country. The results of that journey will be greater weakness and dependency. What Blankley calls for is a “bold new nationalism” where we all must work hard, sacrifice and put America first (it wouldn’t hurt if we actually loved our country) in order to succeed at home and in the world.
While we see Blankley’s grim view of the situation American finds herself currently in, it is also a wake-up call for the world. If American fades, the world will truly be a forlorn and dangerous place.
Blankley discusses bringing back the draft. It’s not a popular thought, but his reasoning is one that should cause even those opposed to rethink their position. Other subjects covered are energy, censorship, codes for wartime, putting America and her interests first, teaching patriotism and so much more.
Armchair Interviews says: American Grit is a book that would be beneficial to read no matter what side you are on in the political arena.
