If you truly love your country and want to keep it free from radical Islamism, then you must read America Alone by Mark Steyn. After you’ve read it, you must decide where you stand and what, if anything, you are going to do about the growing threat.

The conflict between the West and Islam is growing. According to Steyn, the power and the demographics are in the Islamists’ favor. They will take over Europe (that has almost been accomplished) through will and through population growth. While Europe and Canada’s birth rate is falling to a point where the population cannot replace itself, the Muslim population is growing at three and four times the replacement need. In a generation or two, immigrants from Islamic countries will take over by majority. Lest you think the United States is safe, it is not. The power of Islam is growing here also and we’re hanging on by a thread with our birth rate.

According to author Styn, the population that will become the majority is largely unassimilated, angry and more aligned with the culture, traditions and the laws of Islam. Look out for sharia law and burkas will be the new little black dress. Books will be burned, television programs banned and no one will be safe from the consequences of defying ”˜their’ laws.

But hey, the fact that this is happening is our fault really. Styn says we’ve allowed it. Countries are opening their doors to large numbers of people who are not assimilating, want to destroy our culture and possess the will to conquer while we want to believe they just want a good life.

Read America Alone and either accept Steyn’s theory or reject it. But he has ”˜sounded the alarm’ so don’t blame him if you’re waking to the call to prayer in the U.S. in twenty years. The ultimate question is: Do we have the stomach to prevail against a radical people who want to destroy the west? Steyn thinks there is a way to win.

Armchair Interviews says: An intriguing read.
