Jessica Wild’s life is finally falling into place. She’s got an awesome job handling an awesome project (her brainchild) and she’s soon to be married to her perfect man. Her happily-ever-after seems to be undeniable. Until, that is, she accidentally winds up with her fiancé’s mobile phone and receives a call from a woman who seems to know nothing about her. What happens next is textbook vengeance, remorse and miscommunication. The question is, can it all turn around for the happy ending?
A Wild Affair is a fun little romp of a sequel to Townley’s The Importance of Being Married. Her writing is always witty and engaging and her heroines just this side of suave. It is chick-lit for the imperfect among us. And though Jessica says and does things that make you want to rip pages from the book to keep her from doing yet another stupid something, where is the story without it?
Even right up until the end, you won’t be able to figure out the intentions of the secondary characters nor how she will pull out a satisfactory conclusion. Will the ditzy assistant save the day? Will the wedding plans go to waste? What does this other woman want? Is the crazy Russian chick actually trying to be friendly?
All these traits work together to make this a page turner that you just can’t put down.
Armchair Interviews agrees.
