Christmas is a grand time for love, and Lisa Kleypas’ newest offering is a terrific Christmas novella titled A Wallflower Christmas. If you read Lisa’s books you will recognize the Wallflower theme. Her Wallflower series includes Scandal in Spring, Devil in Winter, It Happened One Autumn and Secrets of a Summer Night.
My suggestion is that while A Wallflower Christmas is a stand-alone novella, you would do well to buy all the previous books to really get the flavor of the returning characters. It will enhance your visit to London at Christmas.
Rafe Bowman is a rake. There is no other word for him. But he’s arrived from America to meet Natalie Blandford and hopefully will forge a relationship with Lord Blandford through marriage to his daughter. Rafe’s sisters and the other two women who are the “Wallflowers” are not sure that Rafe is good enough for Natalie. They don’t know the woman, but certainly a “rake” will not fit into London society, no matter how much money he has.
Hannah, Natalie’s poor cousin, is summoned to meet the “Wallflowers” to provide much-needed information about the intended bride. But it is soon evident that love does not follow society’s biddings, nor is it always convenient. But it can be a lot of fun.
I don’t read a lot of Romance novels, but when I do, I enjoy them. And Lisa Kleypas’ Christmas novella is delightful. It’s a wonderful addition to your Christmas reading.
Note: There is sexual content.
